Kaipara council appoints new CEO
A Tauranga council boss is set to take the CEO reins at Kaipara District Council in September.
But Louise Miller will continue in her role at Tauranga City Council until September, where she is General Manager and Corporate Director.
Mayor of Kaipara, Dr Jason Smith made the announcement of her appointment and says it was “the culmination of a rigorous recruitment process” that started late last year.
The council appointed her unanimously at its extraordinary meeting at Maungaturoto on May 15.
Ms Miller has appointments in Tauranga such as General Manager Community Services and Programme Director.
Curt Martin, who is currently Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Infrastructure at KDC, will fill the CEO role until September.
“This is an exciting time for Kaipara as these appointments enable us to continue to build on the substantial progress that has been made since the return to a democratically elected council over 18 months ago,” says Mr Smith.
“I look forward to working with Louise and the Council to keep Kaipara moving forward into the future.”
